neRID Scholarship for Candidates Seeking to Become a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI)

One candidate will receive up to $500 for one RID Approved CDI training per fiscal year to be awarded at each fall conference.
-Registration fees for an approved training event
-Offsetting travel fees for approved training events
-Offsetting fees for room and board to approved training events
-CDI Testing fees

Please understand this $500 will be awarded to candidates as a reimbursement to events the have already or will participate in the future.

Qualifications:
Community Service: Applicant has a noted history of service to the Deaf community through any of the following: past or current involvement with Deaf organizations, held positions on community or state boards or committees, or employment as a licensed interpreter. Education: Applicant holds a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification: Applicant has an interest in sitting for the RID CDI exam and willingness to work in Nebraska. References: Applicant is able to provide letters of recommendation from the Deaf community and hearing interpreters.

Propp Family Legacy Scholarship

Qualifications:
Professional membership: Applicant has been an neRID member in good standing for a minimum of two years.

License:
Applicant has held a Nebraska license and worked in Nebraska for a minimum of one year.

Certification:
Applicant has an interest in sitting for an RID exam and willingness to work in Nebraska.

References:
Applicant is able to provide letters of recommendation from interpreting colleagues and members of the Deaf community.
