Natasha Olsen with the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has issued a call for help. She states:
I am in the processing of applying for a $20,000 grant (yes, $20,000. It’s not a typo) to update our website. I am always looking for ways to make processes more efficient and I believe that updating our website will make applying for a license and license renewals more convenient for interpreters and more efficient for us. If there are funds remaining we would also like to have a mobile app created for the referral system to make it more user-friendly for interpreters to accept jobs. The more convenient it is for interpreter the more it helps us carry out our mission and vision to help provide communication access to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
What I am asking you for is for letters as to why NCDHH deserves this grant and why we are in need of it. I am also asking that you spread the word and ask other people who you know who use our services to send me letters of support as well. I want the State Records Board to be blown away with the amount of support we have from the interpreting community as well as the deaf community!
Unfortunately, I just learned about this grant and the deadline is September 15th so I am requesting a brief turn around on the letters of support. If you could have the letter completed and to me no later than Friday, September 2nd that would be greatly appreciated!
Letters of support can be emailed to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to the address listed below.
Thank you for your help!
