Rule 51: Educational Interpreter Changes

EducationalInterpreters Info State Board Aug 7 2015As a result of LR 517 and work done by the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the State Board directed NDE staff to create a writing committee (with representation from key stakeholders) to address the qualifications of educational interpreters and possible revisions to Rule 51.  The committee met and came to a consensus on proposed Rule 51 changes, specific to educational interpreters.   We are now sharing that information with all stakeholders.  We think it’s important to have a meeting to address questions and concerns about these proposed changes.   This is an open meeting and we invite any interested parties to attend.
